SimilarMinds.com is a resource for personality tests and personality psychology. Currently, there are a number of personality tests here (MOTIVES test, R-Drive test, Enneagram test, Advanced Enneagram, Compatibility test, Jung, Big 5, Personality Disorder test and others). All the tests at SimilarMinds.com are developed based on scientific measures used to ensure test validity. Statistical measures are used to ensure test questions measure what they are intended to measure. Some of the tests are experimental/beta versions but even those tests are made up of pre-tested and validated questions, they just won't be as tuned/refined as a non beta test. For more test info click here. I periodically change the test questions (based on my ongoing research) or add new tests so check back and retake the tests on occasion. The MOTIVES system was developed as refinement and improvement of the Big Five personality model, the current most proven academic personality model. After completing the MOTIVES system I looked through years of experimental personality items and found many notable and effectively orthogonal personality traits that the MOTIVES system did not adequately measure (such as artisticness, love of solitude, civic-mindedness, intellectualness). So I'm currently working on a model that does adequately measure all orthogonal personality traits which will likely be called the Complex 18. The name reflects the complicated reality of human personality and 18 reflects the current number of orthogonal traits the system measures. I've already integrated some of the Complex 18 into the ALLinONE Personality Test improving the accuracy of it's results. The MOTIVES system is not invalid as a personality system. But like other models that fail to measure the entire spectrum of human personality (Big 5, MBTI, Enneagram, HEXACO, EYSENCK, Cattell 16pf) it's not satisfactory as a comprehensive personality model. Yes, they are the same. I decided on different trait labels so I decided on a different system label but the same Big 5 traits are being measured. The longer Big 5 tests on here are revised versions of the IPIP tests where I changed some items which didn't meet statistical muster (IPIP sample sizes were much smaller than any test developed here).
